October is my FAVORITE time of year. Not just because it awesome(because we all know it is), but mostly I’m in favor of it, because I was an October bride. So every year it brings about all the feely good feelings and mushy nostalgia that make most people roll their eyes or back away slowly, looking for a conversational exit.
Shelby and Matt met me on October 24th in downtown Indianapolis to shoot their engagement session, which happened to be my anniversary.
So on top of the usual feely good feelings that I typically get when shooting an engagement session, upon seeing others interact within the throws of love, it was magnified by 20 gazillion. Because I felt like I was taking pictures of myself. The kind, gentle, relaxed, and genuine love between Shelby and Matt is unmistakable. The love that everyone hopes for. Prays for. It was as sincere as the smiles on their faces. After walking here and there throughout the city, we ended the day with a fun fall leaf toss, just beneath the very building that they will be getting married in!
Afterwards, they both offered to walk with me to my car. When I explained that my husband was waiting just around the corner for me, because it was our anniversary, they immediately gained an attitude of celebration and invited us to join them for drinks. Unfortunately we had already made dinner reservations at the Meridian Restaurant for the night, but it made my heart sing when they offered! Shelby and Matt, I feel so privileged to be shooting your wedding. I’m so very excited and I cannot wait for Friday!!!
